Quest School in Lima doubles in size

Thanks to funding from the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust, Monica Rabagliati Charitable Trust, and the Oak Trust, 100 more children will be enjoying a free education in Villa Maria!

Thanks to a generous donation from the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust, our social project in the shanty towns of Villa Maria has been able to extend its existing school into the building next door. After some serious renovation and the construction of a second floor to the new building, our school will have 4 extra classrooms, a communal assembly area, a proper kitchen and dining room, as well as scope to expand further. There are currently 75 children at the school between the ages of 3 and 7 but this new extension will allow the school to accept nearly 200 children up to the age of 11.

This is yet another great step to our project director Alejandro’s dream of having an educational structure which takes kids from pre-school all the way to teaching them a technical skill such as carpentry or electrics. In a district where the opportunities for most of the children in the area are extremely limited, we’re delighted that we’re able to help reverse this situation.
